As a bloodhound, Copper is very skilled at tracking, much to the detriment of his friend Tod, once they become enemies. There was another conflict between the younger and older animators working on the film when when of Disney’s original animators wanted to put in a comedic song sequence in the middle of the film. He was ordered to leave it out as it disrupted the flow of the film, and it was one of the final straws that led to him relinquishing control to the younger animators.
